1 Day Ngamba Chimpanzee Tour – The one-day Ngamba chimpanzee tour introduces you to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary. This is a day excursion and it offers you an opportunity to explore in-depth chimpanzees and their daily behaviors. Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary (NICS) shelters rescued/orphaned chimpanzees.

1 Day Ngamba chimp tour offers the best chimpanzee viewing experience in Uganda. At Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, you will encounter many rescued/orphaned chimpanzees, and explore different day activities the caretakers get involved in to ensure the survival of these primates.

Over 52 orphaned/rescued chimps live in Ngamba and the island is 23 km Southeast of Entebbe. Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary sits on 95 acres of land. Other than rescued chimpanzees, Ngamba also supports a diversity of bird species including kingfishers, African open-billed stork, sacred ibis, black-headed weavers, yellow-billed dark, spur-winged lapwings, and more.

Detailed Itinerary 1 Day Ngamba Chimpanzee Tour

After early breakfast, leave for the morning Ngamba Island Chimpanzee tour. Meet your driver guide who will drive you to the shores of Lake Victoria where you will take a boat to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Connecting from the shores of Lake Victoria to Ngamba takes 45 minutes, with a chance for you to enjoy the view of freshwater Lake- Lake Victoria. Arrive early, and at the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary team for an actual exploration of chimpanzees.

You will have a long day watching chimpanzees, get hands-on experience as you and the caregiver/taker will be feeding chimpanzees, learn how they behave, and more. You will settle for lunch, and later at around 4:00 pm, return to the mainland, drop off at a hotel marking the end of a one-day Ngamba chimpanzee tour.
