What is gorilla habituation experience?

A gorilla habituation experience is a process where wild mountain gorillas get used to the presence of humans. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the only Park in Uganda and in all worlds at large to have such an incredible activity. Gorilla habituation experience is a new activity that was introduced in 2014 by Uganda Wildlife Authority with 2 gorilla families which include Bikyingi and Bushaho. A gorilla habituation experience takes place in the southern region in the Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Such memorable experience gives you an opportunity to spend over 4 hours with this gentle giant in their natural state compared to gorilla trekking where you spend 1 hour, moving with researchers/those who habituate gorillas, spend more time and see how gorillas are habituated is an awesome experience. The gorilla habituation experience is quite an unforgettable experience as you’re trying to make gorillas used to human beings by having them around for long, feeding them, and playing with them. For one who wants to feel the nature of Gorillas and spend much longer with these primates, a gorilla habituation experience is the best answer for you.

A gorilla permit habituation is a National document licensed and issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority to visitors/ a traveler that allows them to spend four hours with a wild mountain gorilla in their natural habitat, with such process where wild mountain gorillas are trained to get used to people, they are only 8 permits which a sold per day in two families. A gorilla permit habituation includes park entry fees, a ranger guide, and a certificate of participation. Visitors interested in gorilla habituation experience should have a reasonable level of fitness to participate. All those interested in the habituation experience pay USD1500.00 per person per experience. and are paid in advance for about 4 months, because it’s in high demand especially peak season of June, July, August, September, December, January, and February. Gorilla habituation experience is guaranteed when you acquire a permit in Uganda. One can also decide to book a gorilla permit direct to Uganda Wildlife Authority and the payment is made directly to their Account Number. Visitors above 15 years old are allowed to trek mountain gorillas.
