The 3 days Queen Elizabeth lion tracking experience offers an unmatched wildlife viewing experience and to all nature lovers, it should be one of the must-book on Uganda safaris. This special wildlife tour in Queen Elizabeth National Park includes a lion trekking experience and normal game drives to see other abundant wildlife in the park’s sweeping savanna plains. This tour involves exploring the Kasenyi Plains (sector), the Northern sector of Queen Elizabeth NP where plenty of wildlife species will be spotted including lions.

Day 1: Hotel pick up & drive to Queen Elizabeth NP (Kasese)

After a delicious breakfast, meet the driver guide for briefing and later, board a classic 4×4 safari vehicle. Start your road trip from Kampala or Entebbe to Western Uganda taking the Masaka-Mbarara-Kasese route 7-8 hours inclusive of a stopover at the Equator crossing. Queen Elizabeth NP is one of East Africa’s endowed parks when it comes to faunal and floral species including elephants, lions, cape buffaloes, spotted hyenas, antelopes, and birds (about 620 bird species live in this park alone including shoebill storks, flamingos, kingfishers, etc).

Day 2: Lion trekking & launch cruise

Set out for your game drive and lion-tracking experience in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Explore the Kasenyi Plains on lion trekking 1-3 hours and you will have a deep insight into the lions’ daily behaviors. After getting up close and taking pictures, drive back while spotting some of the wildlife including elephants, birds, buffaloes, antelopes, hyenas, warthogs and more.

In the afternoon, connect to the Kazinga channel for a launch cruise also expected to go for 2-3 hours. On a launch or boat excursion, you will be spotting some of the finest aquatic life including hippos, crocodiles and aquatic bird species.

Day 3: Game drive & departure

Arise early in the morning and enjoy a hefty breakfast, leave the lodge for a morning game drive. This is expected to go 2-3 hours and this will get you the best sightings of Uganda Kobs, elephants, buffaloes, birds, leopards, lions, warthogs, waterbucks, bushbucks and more. Retreat from the Kasenyi Plains, and exit the park as you head back to Kampala/Entebbe to be dropped off at the hotel for relaxation.
