Boomu Women Group Cultural Experience. Located about 21kms from Masindi town, Boomu Women’s Group is one of the areas of interest for enthusiastic cultural lovers to explore on Uganda safari. Boomu cultural group is found at the edge of Murchison Falls National Park, the biggest National Park in Uganda and home to the world’s powerful waterfalls – Murchison Falls.
Visitors to Murchison Falls National Park or those with plans to engage in the different activities in Budongo Forest and plan to access the park or forest via the Southern gate- Kichumbanyobo gate, Boomu Bandas can be seen along the road or even make a stopover. Other than cultural or community walk/experiences, Boomu Women’s Group also have comfortable bandas worth spending a night while on cultural safaris or Uganda safaris in Murchison Falls National Park or primate tour in Budongo Central Forest.
The word Boomu means “Togetherness” and it describes exactly the purpose why the group was founded. Boomu works together for mutual benefit and the benefit of local communities. Boomu is a member of the Ugandan Community Tourism Association (UCOTA).
