Why Opt For a Package Deal When Hiring A car in Uganda

Booking a package deal is one of the decisions you won’t regret while hiring a safari vehicle for your Uganda Safari. This is when a Tour Operator such as Maranatha Tours and Travel  also books domestic transfers (where needed), accommodation, and meals, in addition to providing a safari vehicle for your trip. In our many years in the industry, we have had visitors who simply book the safari vehicle with/or without a driver, then opt to book for accommodation, meals, and activities on their own.

While it is possible to hire a vehicle via a car rental agency and then book your accommodation, meals, and activities separately, we usually don’t recommend it for a number of reasons, as you will discover. What are the advantages of opting for a package deal when hiring a vehicle in Uganda? And how might it be a better choice than arranging your own safari after hiring the vehicle in Uganda?

Read on to explore some of the advantages of opting for a package deal when hiring a vehicle in Uganda.

Package deals are easier and quicker to book

For busy families, solo travelers, and even couples, opting for a package deal when hiring a vehicle in Uganda is an easier solution to the safari conundrum: domestic flights, accommodation, meals, and activities. This means you will book a package safari without wasting time arranging for the different components for the safari, nor how they will fit together within your plans.

Additionally, there are some aspects of activities in Uganda, like gorilla trekking permits and chimpanzee permits, which you won’t be able to book directly, except through a Tour Operator. And when you choose to only buy permits through the Tour Operator, be prepared to pay an extra amount to cover administrative costs.

However, when it comes to a package deal, domestic flights, Hotel check-ins, meals, and activities are all choreographed to be seamless.

Less stress

Booking a package safari means you don’t have to drive! You will instead let the driver/host take you around your safari destination without getting behind the wheel. Not driving, therefore mean you will wipe away the hassle and stress of looking for a good driver, insurance, or the actual driving part itself.

Package deals remove much of the burden and irritation that comes with planning a safari and trawling through thousands of price comparison websites. For this reason, when you opt for a package deal, you will most likely be in the same area for the entirety of your trip, as everything is on hand. This ranges from Lodge restaurants to pool access, to evening entertainment in the form of Dance performances from community dance troupes.

Additionally, even add-ons can be booked without stress, whether before or during the safari in Uganda. For instance, for travelers with children, it will mean less stress when compared to a DIY (Do-it-yourself) safari.

Better Financial Protection

You have better financial protection from your Tour Operator when you opt for a package deal when hiring a vehicle in Uganda. For instance, if you booked a package deal and the Company subsequently goes out of business or financially fails. If you have yet to travel to Uganda, it is possible to make a claim for a refund for your package deal. Additionally, if you are already on safari and your package includes return flights, the cost of getting to your return destination will already be covered. In so doing, you can claim to be reimbursed for the sections of the safari package that can no longer be provided.

Additionally, you can be looked after in case something goes wrong. For instance, if your domestic flight is cancelled, the Tour Operator will either rearrange an alternative flight on your behalf or offer a refund for part of the package.

Your Uganda road safari is organized by one Company

As your Uganda safari is organized by one Tour Operator, you will receive all your important safari information from them, and the Company will be the only one you need to get in touch with if you need to make any changes before traveling or should you require assistance while on the trip.

Provides value for money

While you might not expect it, you can actually get good value for money when you opt for a package deal when hiring a vehicle in Uganda. They are actually cheaper than booking all the safari elements independently. This is because Tour Operators have access to discounts that are then passed on to visitors. Package deals when hiring a vehicle in Uganda can also be exclusive to the Tour Operator you are booking with, hence you won’t be able to book them anywhere else.

You will enjoy the safari you paid for

Another advantage of opting for package deals when hiring a safari vehicle in Uganda is the fact that you will enjoy the safari you actually paid for. For this reason, the details of what you are booking will be clear, accurate, and delivered to you as indicated. For instance, if the Safari Lodge is not up to the standard you were expecting or promised, then the Tour Operator will try his/her best to find you another alternative or make the required refunds.

Perfect for solo travelers

Another advantage of opting for a package deal when hiring a safari vehicle in Uganda is the fact that it favors solo travelers. Interestingly, many Tour Operators provide reduced rates or don’t apply singles’ supplements. There are several solo travel options for most of our safaris, and these provide low or no single supplement options.
