The fun never stops at the source of the Nile

Well known as the longest river in the world, river Nile is one of those few water bodies which have a strong historical background which is interesting to know. Starting from way back in the early days when no one knew about it, the Nile was a major place for breathtaking and passing time for nature lovers. It is this reason that some explorers from Europe like John Hanning Speke were enticed to come and find out where this long river originates from. He moved along it following it from Egypt up to Uganda and he discovered its source in Jinja. From that time up to now, the source of the Nile is taken to be Jinja and the place has been well organized and modernized to provide a relaxing, breathtaking atmosphere for the visitor. Many tourists from different countries fly to Uganda simply because they want to see where the Nile which is shared by three countries starts from and last year, the source of the Nile recorded a rapid increase in the number of visitors.

History about the place can never be exhausted due to its diversity and various aspects involved. However, there is more about the source of the Nile for those interested in nature. Since strategically located in a place full of different tourism fraternities surrounded by green highlands which provide a wonderful view, there is no doubt that a visit to the site is worthy. Spending about half an hour watch different birds on the Nile as you pass time is a lifetime experience. This is possible because there are over 500 bird species on the source of the Nile and this just makes life better for birders.

Boat rides on the Nile is a guarantee depending on one’s wish and this is an additional package to other tourism activities like spot fishing, nature walks, cultural visits to neighboring villages and bird watching. The fun at the place never stops as tourists prefer to spend the whole day enjoying the real African atmosphere at the same time taking some photos for remembrance.

In case you are interested in getting to the source of the Nile, then you shouldn’t get worried with long distances to travel while on the bus because it’s just 60km from Kampala, Uganda’s capital city. This makes a safari to this place less costly compared to other destinations but full of amazing adventures.
