Detailed Itinerary: 4 Days Lake Mburo National Park Tour

Day 1: Pick up, & travel to Lake Mburo (4-5 hours) –Equator crossing for experiment

Arise early morning for tea or cup of coffee, meet your driver guide for briefing and pick up. Take your seats in your comfortable 4×4 safari vehicle and start your journey to the western side of Uganda, 4-5 hours’ drive to Lake Mburo National Park.

En-route, make a stopover at the Equator crossing and it will be at this point where you will perform a water experiment to determine the Northern & Southern hemispheres. It is the best point to share exciting moments too with your dear ones

and you will proceed to Lake Mburo National Park, home to lots of impalas, zebras, hippos, cape buffaloes, topis and birds.

Arrive at the park a bit early for lunch and relaxation. Late in the afternoon, embark on a guided evening/night game drive. It will be a great opportunity to catch up with nocturnal species as they become active. Expected sightings on your night game drive include leopards, hyenas, mongoose, jackals, civets, galagos, bush pigs and nightjar birds. You will return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and a night stay in a midrange accommodation facility.

Day 2: Early morning driver guided game drive & boat cruise

Following breakfast, a guided game drive in a 4×4 tourist vehicle with pop-up roof/sunroof for your clear game viewing. This will run for 2-3 hours as you catch up with early risers while they become active for the day plus other mammal species. The day animal sightings will include hyenas, buffaloes, zebras, waterbucks, elands, impalas, leopards, reedbucks, topis and bird species.

Retreat from the game drive and enjoy lunch plus some refreshments, then relax. You will proceed for the afternoon boat cruise along Lake Mburo. The 2-3 hours’ boat cruise comes with clear views of hippos, crocodiles and water birds.

Day 3: Bush walk & cycling

A guided bush walk begins in the morning after breakfast. You will be led by an experienced guide and this is all about immersing yourself deep into the different habitats of the park as you search for wildlife, flora and birds. Get back for relaxation, lunch at the lodge till late afternoon when you will embark on a cycling excursion to see wildlife on a bicycle including zebras, elands, topis and impalas.

Day 4: Game drive & depart

A leisurely breakfast to be enjoyed at the comfort of the lodge and after, check out of the lodge. Start your trip back to Entebbe city but with an exiting game drive through the park as you sight early risers and other species you missed the previous day. Make another stopover at the Equator crossing and continue straight to Entebbe city, marking the end of 4-day special wildlife tour.
