5 Days Lake Mburo And Lake Bunyonyi Safari Adventure
The 5 Days Lake Mburo National Park and Lake Bunyonyi incorporates wildlife viewing and recreational experiences in western and far southwestern Uganda. You will be engaging in a guided game drive and boat cruise in Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s most accessible park from the heart of Kampala. This park spans over 260sq.km and situated in Kiruhura District next to Mbarara city. At Lake Mburo NP, you will find different wildlife including giraffes, impalas, zebras, oribis, elands, waterbucks, topis, hyenas, leopard, and over 350 bird species.

Lake Bunyonyi –‘place of many little birds’ lies in the far Southwestern Uganda and has a depth of 39m at an altitude of 1962m. It is one scenic lake with 29 islands, 200 bird species and lush terraced hills in the surrounding. At Lake Bunyonyi, embark on a boat ride and relax along the lake shores.

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi (Kabale)
A hefty breakfast will be enjoyed in the morning and your driver picks you up at the hotel in Kampala or at agreed pick up point. Start your trip early taking Southwestwards to Lake Bunyonyi on Kampala-Masaka-Mbarara route. It will be a complete 8 hours’ drive depending on your driver’s speed and stopovers. En-route, the Equator is a must for you to make a stopover and Igongo cultural centre will be the main area of interest for lunch.
Leave Igongo for Lake Bunyonyi and you will be checking in at the lodge booked by your tour operator (Maranatha Tours & Travel). Relax for a long day and later retire for the night in the lodge.

Day 2: Boat ride and community visit

After an early breakfast, you will be catching up with the morning canoe/boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi. Explore the spectacular Lake Bunyonyi on your boat while spotting some of the birds and viewing the scenic terraced hills. You will be visiting some of the islands and later, return for relaxation in the lodge. Enjoy lunch, relax and later proceed with the afternoon community visit. Visit the Batwa pygmies community or Bakiga to learn about their unique traditions, cultures and so much more.

Day 3: Lake Bunyonyi-Lake Mburo NP
A delicious breakfast and after, set off from Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo National Park. This park is found right within Kiruhura district, Western Uganda. You will arrive early, check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch. Later in the evening, you will set off for the night game drive, a great opportunity for you to search for the nocturnal species.

Day 4: Game drive & boat cruise
Enjoy a hefty breakfast and after, start your day on an exciting game drive with an experienced guide. Possible sightings for the day include leopards, oribis, kobs, impalas, zebras, giraffes, reedbucks, hyenas, elands, topis, and plenty of unique birds.
Return and lunch will be offered, enjoy it at leisure till afternoon when you will be embarking on a boat cruise. The boat cruise will allow you to spot hippos, crocodiles, and aquatic birds.

Day 5: Depart for Entebbe or Kampala city
A heavy breakfast will be enjoyed while still at the lodge, check out afterwards and you will start your return trip to Kampala or Entebbe city early. Another stopover will be made at the Equator on this day and you continue up to your hotel in Kampala or go direct to Entebbe airport to wait for evening/night flight.
