Uganda Tours After Elections – Uganda Safari News

Uganda Tours after Elections – Uganda Safari News

On February 18th, 2016, Uganda held its presidential elections and the various places in this East African country were busy with the long-awaited practice. Many nationals on this day moved to the various polling stations in order to elect their favorite candidates. However, it’s a common practice especially in Africa that towards the elections, the number of tourists to a given country which is to perform elections reduces. This is because most of them want to first ensure that the country they intend to visit will be peaceful hence suitable for hosting visitors. This was the same case with Uganda. A few weeks towards the elections, the number of visitors to this pearl of Africa reduced vis-à-vis the number of inquiries received by the different tour operators. For some clients who had booked their safaris which were slated to start in February had to cancel them as they wait to see how the situation in the country will be before and after the elections.

The good news is that the practice went on smoothly and Uganda is more peaceful than ever. The situation in the country is now table and there is completely no fear to travel to the various destinations. Last week shortly after the elections, the executive director of the Uganda wildlife Authority (UWA) on a press conference assured the whole world that Uganda is safe to visit. Many tour operators were worried that the elections could deter the sector especially if they didn’t move on well. They thought that visitors especially those from foreign countries would reconsider and instead visit other stable countries a thing that would put them out of business. This could have reduced their competitive advantage in the tourism sector because Uganda’s neighbors like Rwanda and Kenya which are peaceful would have swiped away its clients (tourists). The mere fact that the elections moved on peacefully and even after the elections there was total peace in the whole country brought back the lost hope of the different operators. Today as you read this, Uganda is a safe country to visit and 2016 will be a wonderful year for the industry due to the boost expected from the government.
According to some operators, they have started getting genuine inquiries from foreigners who want to come and tour the different attractive sites in the Uganda. This signifies that even after the elections, the tourism sector will move on well without inconveniences. There is nothing to fear about while in the country because the nationals are rich-cultured people who respect visitors and give them a warm welcome whenever met.

Now that the whole country is back to business, Uganda’s tourism sector is ready to give its clients the best adventure which cannot be found elsewhere. The magnificent feeling one will get while on a safari to the pearl of Africa is life changing and breathtaking. All the 10 national parks are ready to receive visitors for their adventure. The infrastructure like the roads to the various national parks are in good shape and one should expect a wonderful Uganda Safari without any constraint.
