Uganda still ranked the best safari destination

For the good observant, you probably might have noticed the hardships Uganda faced last her when it comes to tourism. Many pointed out the gay bill as the major cause of the setback and different operators had lost hope. However, that did not deter the fascinating tourism fraternities that the country is blessed with and mere fact that no one can change it, many tourists kept on jetting into the country to simply have a glance at some of the hard-to find nature wonders. This means that the country is till among the leading tourism destinations on the planet, Africa.

It should be remembered that in 2012 this East African country was ranked the leading tourism destination by the lonely planet and this greatly marketed it to the rest of the world. It is this reason that many people from the whole world were attracted to the pearl of Africa and the country gained a lot of revenue and other benefits. However, the glory was only put to test when the controversial gay bill was passed in 2014,a thing the sparked criticism mainly from western countries (America). Some tourists who had booked safaris with various operators had to cancel them fearing that the country was no longer safe for everyone. However, the bill was later cancelled as the president asked the members of Parliament of Uganda to do more research on it before he could sign it as a law. This changed everything and Uganda was later announced as a safe destination for all visitors. From then, the number of visitors has rapidly increased and more is expected to come especially when most European countries are reaching summer.

One of the key things that have enabled Uganda to rank as the best are the rare mountain gorillas which act as the leading attractions.70% of Uganda’s tourists come specifically to track these great apes in their natural habitats of Bwindi Impenetrable and Mgahinga National Parks. Some even end up spending more days in the wild trying to get enough of the gorillas and they actually spend days enjoying splendid views of these wonderful primates. However, there are other attractions which are unique in Uganda and are loved by visitors like game viewing, bird watching, cultural tours, nature walks, hiking, chimpanzee trekking and many more. These combined have greatly influenced very many people to come and have a classic adventurous experience which is hard-to enjoy in other countries.
