Detailed Itinerary 4 Days Uganda Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National park

Mburo National Park

After a relaxed breakfast, you will drive South Ward to Lake Mburo National park. It is a small Savannah park with rolling hills and idyllic shores. It supports abundant biodiversity of habitat, galleries, swamps, rich acacia woodland and grass land. The lake boosts a number of buffaloes, warthog topi, water buck, eland, bush big.

En route at the Equator for some photographs. Bird life abounds with over 315 species found in the park including the African fish eagle, Maribou stork and pied kingfisher. Proceed to the park arriving late in the afternoon. You will cover a distance of 230 kilometers which is about 3-4 hours.

Day 2: Lake Mburo National Park‐ Bwindi Forest National Park

Today, you will have an early morning game drive within Lake Mburo National park. Expect to see large herds of Zebras, topis, gigantic eland. Return to the lodge for breakfast then later transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable rainforest.

The forest is a home of almost half of the world’s mountain gorillas. The distance from Lake Mburo to Bwindi is 272 Kilometer which is about 4-6 hours.

Day 3: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi

Up very early in the morning, you head to the ranger station, where you will be allocated guides before heading into the forest. The walk to find the gorillas may be as short as two hours. However, it will generally take 2‐4 hours to find them as their territory can range up to 40 km.

You will be guided by a park ranger who will guide you by clearing and assist you through the forest. You will need a good fitness level to make this walk as the going can be slippery and tough at times. Once the gorilla group is located you will spend an hour with them as they feed, rest and play.

Day 4: Transfer from Bwindi- Kampala

Have a relaxed breakfast then drive back to Kampala – Uganda’s capital City. Later on you will be dropped off to Entebbe International airport for your international flight. It will take you 8-10 hours to reach Kampala then 45 minutes to reach the airport. Winding your way through Kampala traffic can take some time, but it is always entertaining. You will arrive at your destination late in the afternoon or early in the evening.
