Birding to forge way for Uganda’s Tourism

With less attention given to this adventurous tourism package, bird watching is one of the most interesting activities one can enjoy while on a safari to Uganda. With a wide range of different bird species, this East African country stands out as the leading birding paradise In Africa and for the first-time travelers, they get surprised with the enchanting beauty possessed by this peaceful country.

Unlike other countries where a visitor has to move from park to park in search on the birds, in Uganda, one can view these birds anywhere so long as he/she is within the proximity of the country. Some tourists get surprised when they encounter birds in the middle of Kampala, the capital city yet it looks to be crowded with very many people. The reason is simple, since Ugandans are true Africans, they respect their norms which trace way back from their ancestors. In the African culture, man is supposed to respect nature and also give it first priority since it’s what he bases on to survive. This is the reason why the local people in this Pearl of Africa allow living with these birds peacefully without interfering with their live. In some other countries, birds are tortured as they are hunted and killed and some eaten.

But let’s take a deep look into the reason as to why Uganda has lasted as one of the best birding countries in the world and why it registers increasing number of birding safaris. A drive in some of the country’s areas irrespective of whether it’s a town or a village is just enough to make someone agree to the statement. Different species of birds are seen flying above and roaming about the whole area making id attractive and breathtaking. Although birds can be found everywhere in the country, there are some designated places where a visitor can have a relaxed view of them like;- around lakes for example Lake Mburo, Lake Victoria, Lake Kyoga, Lake Albert, around the source of the Nile and others. The birds can also be watched in the various national parks and actually this can act as an additional safari package on someone’s tour.
