Day 1: Kigali City Tour and transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Upon arrival in Kigali or pick-up from the Hotel, you will undertake a short Kigali City Tour that covers some of the City’s spectacular tourist sites such as local markets, Gisozi Genocide site, and the National Museum.
Have lunch and start the 3 hours’ journey to Volcanoes National Park in north-western Rwanda and arrive in the evening to check-in to the Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and touring the Twin Lakes.
Wake up early for breakfast and prepare by wearing right and carrying the right equipment then join your fellow trekkers at the Park Headquarters for briefing. Be allocated to one of the 10 habituated gorilla groups and if lucky, you will be assigned to the easy to trek family. Mountain gorillas are however mobile animals that move from one place to another.
Transfer to the trailhead and start the trek in the company of armed rangers, experienced guide and porters, and after half an hour to 4 hours, you will find the habituated gorilla family with whom you will spend one hour interacting and taking photos as females breastfeed or play with their young ones, as they feed or rest. After the one hour with them, head back to the Lodge for lunch and relaxation.
In the afternoon head for a tour of the scenic Twin Lakes (Bulera and Ruhondo) as a way of relaxing from the hectic gorilla trek. These Lakes offers are found at the backdrop of the Virunga Volcanoes and while here, you will participate in a number of interesting activities including boat cruises or canoe rides and birding.
After exploring the beauty of the Twin Lakes, retreat to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

This is another exciting day as you get to hike to the gravesite of a passionate woman who sacrificed 18 years of her life to protect the mountain gorillas of Volcanoes National Park.
You can’t talk of Gorilla conservation without mentioning Dian Fossey and the hike to her resting place starts with breakfast and meeting at Kinigi Park Headquarters for a briefing by rangers/guides. You will see several attractions such as golden monkeys, buffaloes, Blue monkeys, and birds during hiking and also see her Karisoke Research Center.
After four hours, you will see her gravesite and that of Digit, her favorite gorilla that was killed by poachers.
Descend back to the Lodge for lunch and check-out for the Lodge, then connect to Kigali for your return flight or to the Hotel in Kigali.
