Detailed Itinerary – 7 Days Uganda Wildlife and Cultural Safari:
Day 1: Pick up at the hotel in Kampala and drive to the Kibale National Park (the Primate Capital of the World).
Wake up early morning for you to prepare yourself, have your luggage packed and then settle for your delicious cup of tea or coffee. After, meet our company representative for a warm greeting and he or she will also give a quick briefing about this trip.
Board your 4×4 safari vehicle and by around 8:00am, you will begin your journey to Kibale National Park. Drive along the Kampala-Mityana-Mubende-Matiri forest-Fort Portal tourism city route and this will be 5-6 hours’ drive.
On getting to Fort Portal, you will be amazed by the cool weather and spectacular view of the legendary Rwenzori Mountains, crater lakes and vast tea farms. Before you connect to the lodge, you will have a lunch break and relaxation at one of the best restaurants within the beautiful Fort Portal tourism city in Kabarole District, Western Uganda.
After lunch, drive at leisure to your pre-booked accommodation where you will have a relaxed stay and dinner.

Day 2: A thrilling Kibale chimpanzee trekking adventure and Nature walk in Bigodi Wetland.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kanyanchu for briefing about your chimpanzee trek and it is during this session when you will get to know the set regulations. The park official from Kibale will allocate an experienced park guide to each group which consists of 6 visitors.
At around 8:00am, start your half-day chimp trekking excursion through the lush Kibale Forest where a total of 1500 chimpanzees live plus 12 other primates. Your chimp trek may go for 2-4 hours but this includes an hour for you to enjoy up close and personal encounter with a community of habituated chimpanzees in the wild.
After, walk back from the jungles while still keeping eyes on other primates like colobus monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, olive baboons and also bird species.
Proceed to the lodge for lunch and relaxation, then you will end the day with a rewarding nature walk in Bigodi wetland/swamp. In Bigodi, look out for more primates including black and white colobus monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, baboons, and others; plus diverse bird species like the Great blue turacos.

Day 3: Kibale to the spectacular Queen Elizabeth National Park.
At leisure, enjoy your hearty breakfast and then check out from your respective accommodation options. After, have your luggage packed in the car and today, you will be connecting to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s second largest park and home to the highest concentrations of wildlife including elephants and hippos.
It will be 2-3 hours’ drive and on arrival, you will be dropped off to your respective lodges. While you get to the lodge, you will have breathtaking view of the park’s unique landscape and spot some wildlife species.
Settle at the lodge where lunch will also be provided then you will embark on an afternoon game drive. On a game drive, explore the Kasenyi plains in the Northern side of the park where myriad of fauna will be spotted including huge elephant population, buffaloes, hyenas, antelopes and birds.
The afternoon game drive through Kasenyi will go for at least 2-3 hours then you will get back to the lodge to relax, dine and retire for the night.

Day 4: Game drive via the Northern sector (Kasenyi) and boat cruise on Kazinga channel.
Leave your safari lodge after you have had breakfast or carry it and have a bush breakfast. Today, you will have a rewarding morning game drive via Kasenyi plains and the beauty about it is that you will be searching for early risers and several other species.
Kasenyi is an endowed sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park and is found along the Northern side of the park. During today’s 2-3 hours’ guided game drive, expect to come across elephants, buffaloes, lions, hyenas, birds, antelopes and if you are lucky, you may see leopards in the hide outs.
After the game drive, you will be at the lodge where lunch and some relaxation will be had. In the afternoon, you will be picked up from the lodge and proceed to Kazinga channel where you will spend 2-3 hours on an exciting boat cruise.

Day 5: Departure from Kasenyi for Bwindi with memorable game drive via Ishasha sector.
Meet your driver guide after you have had a leisurely breakfast. Today in the morning, you will be transferred to Bwindi National Park but before getting there, you will have an en-route game drive at Ishasha sector. The Ishasha sector is the Southern game viewing sector in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Ishasha sector is not only popular for tree climbing lions, but also other varied species of animals. These include buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and more.
After the game drive, enjoy a bush lunch break and then continue to the scenic Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to a lush Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and 120 mammal species including 459 mountain gorillas. Check in your gorilla lodge inside the park or adjacent to your preferred gorilla trekking sector.

Day 6: Mind-blowing mountain gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural experience.
Today, you will be part of a life changing primate adventure which is mountain gorilla trekking. Before actual trek begins, you will have breakfast then briefing on guidelines for gorilla trekking and the park official will also allocate to you both park ranger guides and gorilla families.
A single gorilla group will be allocated to every group consisting of 8 guests. Once this session is done, you will be led through the forest in search for mountain gorillas. You will spend 2-6 hours but this may vary depending factors like your speed of walking and location of gorilla groups.
After several hours of trekking, then you come across a family of mountain gorillas, you will be allowed to enjoy an hour face-to-face with these massive creatures. Take as many photos as you can then return to be provided a gorilla trekking certificate before you connect to the lodge for relaxation.
Late in the afternoon, an experienced local guide will accompany you to the Batwa community. At the Batwa community, you will have great time exploring in depth how the Batwa pygmies lived in the forest, and you will also have remarkable entertainment from their dances and music performances.
After, get back and you will have a leisurely dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Departure from Bwindi for Kampala or Entebbe city.
Have a leisurely breakfast while at the lodge and later, you will check out then start getting back to Kampala or direct to Entebbe city. Today’s journey will go for 8-9 hours and expect to have a stopover at the hotel in Mbarara for lunch then photography at the Equator crossing.
