Detailed Itinerary – 4 Days Uganda Safari from Kigali
Day 1: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park- 3-4 hours drive
Start your 3-4 hours journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (BINP) after breakfast, briefing from the driver guide, and proceed to Katuna or Chanika border for the border crossing to Uganda. Katuna border leads you to Kabale and Chanika takes you to Kisoro where you can drive to Bwindi to check into the gorilla safari lodge for evening chilling, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking
Enjoy a hefty breakfast and after, leave the lodge for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules but get there with a pack of snacks, and bottled drinking. You will be visiting any of the 9 habituated gorilla families in Rushaga or any other sector in Bwindi depending on the gorilla permit. Briefing starts at 7:00 am and at 8:00 am, all treks begin with leading the trained park guide taking up to 2-6 hours.
Once you and the guide locate the gorilla group you were searching for, there will be only one hour to stay with mountain gorillas. Photography and learning about gorilla behaviors will be done during the one hour and then you walk back to be given a gorilla trekking certificate then get to the lodge for relaxation.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking (second time)- optional/gorilla habituation or forest walk
Have breakfast and after, assemble at Rushaga once again for briefing and allocation of gorilla groups. Get there with some pack of lunch and enough bottled water to keep you hydrated. You may go visit the same gorilla group or be allocated to another family and you will start the search at 8:00 am. Return after one hour of face-to-face encounters then relax at the lodge before visiting the Batwa community for a cultural tour in the evening.
