4 Days Kahuzi Biega Lowland Gorilla Trekking Safari – Congo Gorilla Tours. On 4 Days Kahuzi Biega Gorilla Safari Congo, you will go gorilla trekking in Congo in Virunga National Park. The tour starts in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital city.
Below is the detailed itinerary of the whole trip;-

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and transfer to hotel/lodge

On your arrival at Kanombe airport you will be welcomed by our safari tour guide/driver who will then transfer you to your accommodation in Kigali.

Day 2: Depart to Bukavu- Democratic Republic Congo.

Early in the morning after a heavy breakfast at the lodge, you will be driven to the south western part of Rwanda to Cyangugu boarder on the way to Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Along the way you will have stopovers at any interesting places visit the Butare the second largest city in Rwanda with very many universities, here you will visit the national museum of Rwanda to get more information about the history of Rwanda, visit the genocide memorial site where over 20,000 people were buried under the same cemetery, visit also the King’s palace among other interesting places.

Have lunch and then after continue with a charming journey to Bukavu with delightful views of the hills in Rwanda through the tropical forest of Nyungwe National park a home to over 13 species pf primates coupled with chimpanzee and also you will have a clear view of Lake Kivu the sixth largest lake in Africa. Arrive in DR Congo in the evening, dinner and overnight at Coco Lodge (Luxury)/Orchid safari Lodge (Mid-Range)/Hotel Horizon (Budget).

Day 3: Lowland Gorilla tracking tour in Kahuzi Biega – DR Congo

Wake up early for a morning breakfast and then after you will be transferred to the park headquarters to receive a short briefing about the lowland gorilla tracking, after the briefing from the park rangers you will then head to the forest for the memorable encounter and adventurous activity of these giants apes in the Kahizi Biega National park.

It usually takes about 1-4 hours tracking the low land gorillas, however it’s not a guarantee since their wild animals they keep on moving from one place to another so a reasonable degree of fitness is needed.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali

Wake up leisurely for a hearty breakfast, after you will be driven back to Rwanda-Kigali crossing via Cyangugu border. You will arrive Kigali in the afternoon, if your flight is in the evening you will first enjoy the Kigali city tour and lunch after continue to the airport to meet your departure flight back home.
